7.0 - THE ORIGIN OF THE SOUND REPRODUCTION
Since the Edison tin-foil phonograph, better reproduction of natural sound has been a continuous search. During the twenties, when the camera was still a tricky optical device, the microphone developed from the wireless, dramatically changed the idea of sound reproduction by the introduction of sound tracks into motion pictures. The result was talking pictures or "the talkies" for short.
