|Fig. 316 - An automobile radio made
in the USA in the early thirties.
The broadcasting boom reaches not only the living-room radio but also,
starting from 1930 the automobile radio became a reality. Its success
was due either to many technological issues such as: the superhet
circuit, new types of components, the 6,3 volt valves, noisy supressors,
the dynamic loudspeaker as well as by the great interest arose among
the young people to have in his car the confort of music and news.
Certainly this new marketing appeal pressed the industry so much.
Therefore, it is interesting to note that the most relevant aspect
for the quick automobile radio development was the birth of the
push buttom tuner and the power supply-using vibrator.
